IELTS (International English Language Testing System) us an English-language assessment system that has been specially designed for people who need to show their English Language proficiency certain special purposes. It is one of the examinations required for enrolment in secondary and tertiary education in the United Kingdom, the European Community, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, and is accepted by various US universities (Harvard, UCLA Berkley, Yale and NYU, among others). It is also a mandatory requirement for immigration to Australia, New Zealand and Canada.
The examination was designed by the British Council, jointly with IELTS Australia and Cambridge ESOL.
- General Training: for secondary studies, attachments and for immigration to Australia and New Zealand.
- Academic: for undergraduate and postgraduate courses in foreign universities.
- Listening (40 minutes)
- Reading (1 hour)
- Writing (1 hour)
- Speaking, individual interview (10 to 15 minutes)

Results are available 13 calendar days after the date of the written examination.
You can check your results on line, but the Test Report Form (TRF) should be collected personally from Santa Lucía 124. Candidates from the regions will receive their TRP via courier. You will only be issued one copy of the TRF.
